Acne is a skin problem more commonly called pimples. Generally, teenagers are affected by this problem. Pimples are commonly found on the face and in rare cases may spread to the neck and back. Acne calls for no reasons to worry, as it is not related to any health hazards.

Acne is caused due to an oily substance called sebum. The sebum is a skin lubricant. The oil glands expand and leak the sebum, which results in swelling and formation of pus. This is called Acne or pimples. Whiteheads are caused due to blocked sebum and blackheads due to dirt accumulated in the oil glands.

Propioni-bacterium survives on the sebum in the oil glands. These bacteria increase the occurrence of inflammation and latter acne. It commonly occurs in women and especially during the menstruation time.

Basically, there is no treatment for acne, but of course it could be controlled. The best treatment for Acne is benzoyl peroxide based creams; it should be used under medical recommendation. But these creams are only a temporary cure. Other common remedies are clean your face twice using a cleanser. Note that squeezing acne may lead to scars on your face.

You could prevent or control acne even with a proper diet. Avoid oily food, chocolate, aerated drinks. Drink lot of water and relieve yourself of the stress.
